William D. Crowell is an eleventh-generation Harwich resident who has been practicing law on the Cape for over forty-five years. Bill received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Cornell University in 1975, where he also was a co-captain on the baseball team and earned first team All-Ivy status as an outfielder. Bill’s love of, and prowess for, baseball came from his family lineage in the historic Cape Cod baseball league as his grandfather Fred Crowell pitched for Harwich in the 1920-30’s; his father Fred Jr. was an infielder/outfielder for Harwich in the 1940-50’s; his older brother Tim played for the Harwich Mariners in the 1960s and his nephew Bryant Warner pitched for the Chatham Anglers. Bill played several seasons for the Mariners in the 1970s. See Cape Cod Times 7/25/20 Article on Crowell Family Affair in Cape Cod Baseball League here.

Bill attended Suffolk University Law School and, upon his graduation in 1978, following in the footsteps of his other grandfather, Raymond Grayson, a long-time Harwich Port lawyer, Bill decided to return to, and practice law in, the Harwich area. Bill has been representing local individuals and businesses on the Cape with respect to their legal needs for almost half a century. Bill has successfully assisted thousands of Cape residents and businesses reach their personal or business goals in the various legal practice areas listed here.
Bill is a member of the Barnstable County Bar Association, Massachusetts Bar Association, and Real Estate Bar Association of Massachusetts as well as a title insurance agent for First American Title Insurance Company.
Bill has been awarded Martindale Hubbell’s highest attorney rating – the prestigious AV Preeminent® rating. Martindale Hubbell describes the rating as: “The highest peer rating standard. This rating signifies that a large number of the lawyer's peers rank him or her at the highest level of professional excellence for their legal knowledge, communication skills and ethical standards.”
Bill resides in Harwich with his wife Robin and he has three adult children and six grandchildren. Bill is actively involved in the Harwich area community, including serving as Trustee of Brooks Free Library since 1980 and has been a life-long member of Pilgrim Congregational Church in Harwich Port.
